AccuProbe® Culture Identification Tests

Overview:
Gen-Probe's AccuProbe® Culture Identification Tests offer definitive identification of the most commonly isolated mycobacteria. For laboratories that require accurate, cost-effective identification for several microorganisms, AccuProbe is an appropriate solution. The tests combine the specificity of DNA probes with the convenience and speed of Hybridization Protection Assay (HPA). In only 50 minutes, an AccuProbe test delivers definitive results from a single colony or from broth media.

Use:
The entire range of AccuProbe assays follow a standard format and uses common reagents. All of the assays are based on Gen-Probe's exclusive Hybridization Protection Assay (HPA) technology. In addition, the tests allow for the detection of target organisms from primary culture therefore eliminating the additional labor of having to purify secondary cultures. Results are obtained by utilizing Gen-Probe's luminometers which are easy to use and offer precise readings. Convenient packaging also provides extended stability and shelf life.

Features/Benefits:
  • Obtain accurate results
  • Boost productivity by delivering definitive results in only 50 minutes
  • Save time by using primary cultures
  • User-friendly non-isotopic test format helps to reduce technician training
  • Hold down costs by using standard reagents for efficient batch testing
AccuProbe helps to expedite accurate identification of different species of Mycobacterium and provides answers to allow appropriate treatment for possible TB cases negative for Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In addition, the tests offer several benefits for physicians including reducing the risk of treating the wrong condition, creating confidence in diagnosis and treatment as well as enhancing outcomes through accurate identification of specific infections.
